Of Zombies and Survival

Last night, a couple of friends and I were on an animated discussion about surviving zombie attacks in a mall..much like what happens in movies..or in video games like Resident Evil of L4D. The thought may seem ridiculous at first, but then again, truth is stranger than fiction.

But what is a zombie? According to the ever reliable wikipedia, a zombie is “a creature that appears in books, films and popular culture. It is typically a reanimated corpse or a human being who is being controlled by someone else by use of magic. More recent stories have used a pandemic illness to explain them. Stories of zombies originated in the West African spiritual belief system of voodoo, which told of the people being controlled as laborers by a powerful wizard.”

Suffice to say, any moron is qualified to be called a zombie. If one is ably manipulated by another, or appears to be rather ‘brainless’, then that person is as good as a living dead. In a time like this, one needs to survive, hence risk being infected by this disease. The most common way to survive a zombie attack is to run away from them..in the most inconspicuous way. You have to do this as discreetly as possible. Like simply smiling before walking slowly towards an exit when the zombie isn’t looking. Or create a distraction so you can safely exit the periphery. Another way is to pretend to be a zombie yourself and play dead. however, this would require more skills and might prove to be really difficult if you are brainy in real life. Of course you can always resort to a battle. But this would require you to load up on your armory and gadgets  to ensure victory.

If you know of any other way, please do not hesitate to inform me.
